Beauty Mughals Left Behind

Muslim’s culture is praised all around the world, their beliefs, their religious activities and the most important of all is their architecture. The whole world is really fascinated to see the precision, design and artwork Muslim architects do to show the professionalism and perfection with a cultural touch to present the religious effect. Pakistan offers some historic destinations that each cater to your cultural curiosity as well your love for art. One of the historic destinations includes “The Badshahi Mosque”. Also known as Emperor’s mosque,” it was constructed in 1673 by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. It was mainly built for the preservation of the Prophet's (PBUH) hair. It’s located in the historic city of Lahore. This mosque symbolizes and epitomizes the class and brilliance of the Mughal Empire. Badshahi Mosque is currently one of the foremost recognizable landmarks in Lahore.

The mosque can easily accommodate 55,000 worshippers making it the second biggest mosques in Pakistan in term of capacity, after Faisal Mosque, which is located in the country’s capital Islamabad.

The mosque is richly beautified in Manbatkari in the interior and a touch of mural paneling in bold expression. The flooring in the interior is fully marbled. Whereas in the exterior of the mosque carved stones are used to decorate. The motifs and the embellishments truly show the Indian, Central Asian, and Indo-Greek styles.

The mosque is fully operational and well maintained till date and the history behind the mosque can still be felt behind the walls.
